Windsor Castle Morning by Richard Elmore. Victorian artist Richard Elmore's painting of Windsor Castle, the Royal Castle in Berkshire shown in Victorian painting, part of a series of paintings of castles of Great Britain.

The round tower, dating from the 11th century. Henry 1st who reigned between 1100-1105, held court at Windsor in 1114 and in the 12th century King Henry 2nd who ruled 1154-1189, enlarged the defensive works and built another defensive wall within the castle. Further development continued by Edward III who ruled 1327-77 and this reconstruction is roughly as the castle is today.
