Equestrian artist Henry Alken The Finnish. The Forest Stakes by Henry Alken The Horse race, the Forest Stakes was run in Warwickshire at Henley in Arden  part of the series of four horse racing paintings. The paintings show  the race in 1847.  Henry Alken was a keen Huntsman himself and painted Hunting, Coaching and Horse racing paintings. he is probably the best known of painters in his family his father was also a painter .
